	Land sales on the rise Since New Year's Day, Satterley Property Group has sold more than 450 lots – a statistic which seriously questions reports of doom and gloom in the market place. "We have enjoyed three months of sales well above our target expectations," Nigel Satterley said. "That's because we have been tailoring our prices to suit the market and ensuring that buyers know about the incentives and benefits available." Satterley Property Group continues to sell about a third of all residential land across the State as buyers flood back into the market. With more than 140 lots sold in the past two weeks and around 200 visitors to the estates each weekend, Mr Satterley says the market rebound is more than a one-off. He states about 70 per cent of recent buyers were first home owners taking advantage of the Federal Government's $21,000 grant, the lower interest rates, price reductions and 'bonus' packages. "Another interesting statistic is the increase in the number of people buying higher priced lots. They are second home buyers wanting to upgrade. These are all clear signs that it's a buyers' market. Instead of pessimism, visitors to our estates are expressing growing confidence."

Nigel's advice draws praise

Nigel Satterley's positive suggestions about how Australia can best weather the international financial storm have been commended by The West Australian.

Nigel told the newspaper that our governments should invest in sensible infrastructure and take a big picture approach to spending. He also encouraged the continuation of the first home owner's scheme.

In an editorial on 24 March 2009, The West said: "Optimistic voices can be hard to find in the present economic gloom. So it is gratifying that some of WA's most powerful businessmen have taken a positive approach by promoting the State as well placed to ride out the economic downturn."
