'Claire's House' Dedicated to the Memory of a Brave Battler
The Telethon Home at Provence has been dedicated to the memory of Capel teenager Claire Davies, last year's Regional Telethon child who lost her battle with illness in February.
There was not a dry eye in the house at the launch of the home attended by Claire's parents Vicki and Steve Davies and brother Mostyn. Claire was the first WA Regional Telethon Child and she was very proud to represent her region.
"I would like to thank all of the people who donated time and materials to the project," Vicki said.
"Without their hard work this would not have been possible".
Thirteen-year-old Claire suffered from a congenital heart condition which was diagnosed when she was just six weeks old.
A regular patient at Princess Margaret Hospital, Claire had her most risky surgery in January 2008 which left her in a two week coma and claimed her right leg. She passed away in February 2009 and was farewelled in a moving ceremony at the Capel Community Centre.

'Claire's House', as it will forever be known, is a majestic four-bedroom, two bathroom home in Almond Parkway.
It was designed and built by WA Country Builders on land donated by the Satterley Provence development and has drawn universal approval from those who have inspected the home, ideally located opposite Provence Lake.
"Those who've walked through the house have been blown away," Peter Cherry, WA Country Builders' Bunbury Sales and Marketing Manager said.
"Many have said it's the nicest home they have ever been inside."
It's a large four bedroom, two bathroom dwelling with activity room and home theatre.
The master suite has a separate lobby entrance, huge walk-in robe and a resort-style ensuite.
The outdoor area features a separate dining and living section, complete with heating.
The home is currently on the market for $695,000. Interested parties should contact Alan Draper on 9751 2344 for an inspection.

The group of 10 young people aged from 8 to 17 years participated over the course of the weekend from planning the design and layout of the artwork through to learning how to apply the spray paint.

An estimated 2500 people celebrated an early start to Easter enjoying Satterley's annual Easter Fair at Brighton Estate on Sunday April 5.
The free four-hour fair featured a stage programme showcasing the cream of local talent while the kids amused themselves on the climbing wall, ferris wheel, trackless train, merry-go-round and face-painting. The stage program was a mix of theatre, singing, dancing and brass band music providing conclusive evidence of the depth of talent that exists in the Brighton area.
Food and drink outlets were plentiful while a larger-than-life Easter Bunny attracted a big crowd wherever he went. |
