The remarkable transformation has been created by a comprehensive, integrated set of initiatives which include:

1. Developing a strong sense of community and home owner pride and involvement;
2. Building and supporting sustainable community networks;
3. Beautifying the streetscapes, median strips, reserves and remnant native bushland;
4. Adding paths and shade corridors;
5. Improving safer night-time lighting;
6. Making the main roads more pedestrian-friendly and visually attractive;
7. Managing local traffic better with the addition of roundabouts and other traffic-calming initiatives;
8. Restoring and remodelling government houses and apartments to a very high standard, inside and out, resulting in a 'best designed street in the nation' award;
9. Upgrading of private homes to match the new high government housing standards.
