Secret Harbour is an award-winning residential estate offering an idyllic lifestyle and a stunning location to live. The secluded yet village like ambience is one of its most attractive features. Many flock to Secret Harbour for its abundant natural attributes such as the open spaces, bush land, beaches, parks and lakes, while others are won over by the internationally renowned 18 hole links-style golf course.
From its initial establishment in 1993 the award winning southern suburbs seaside estate, Secret Harbour, has gone from strength to strength and now boasts a host of community facilities. The education of the ever growing younger population is served by three schools.
Comet Bay College is a secondary school that offers a diverse range of up to date amenities. There are two equally impressive primary schools, Secret Harbour Primary and Comet Bay Primary. All of these schools actively embrace the community spirit and participate in community events. Other community facilities include the Community Centre which is located in the town centre, many beautiful landscaped parks, numerous playing fields and an indoor swimming complex.
The pristine beaches give the opportunity to experience the fabulous outdoor lifestyle that in itself is an Australian icon. The Secret Harbour Surf Beach is known as the best permanent sand break in the Perth metropolitan area and this gives rise to a whole host of activities. The surf-side lifestyle is one of the reasons the Secret Harbour Surf Club is extremely active within the community and popular with all age groups.
Perched high on a hill in the centre of the golf course is Spyglass Hill which now includes the newly opened $2.5 million Grandwood Homes built sales and information centre. This sales office is one out of the box and is designed to reflect the quality of Secret Harbour and Spyglass Hill with its sweeping ocean and golf course views.
Spyglass Hill consists of an island of 240 premium home sites that have not been priced out of reach and at the more exclusive end of the market these magnificent 900sqm premium elevated lots enjoy some of the best views in Secret Harbour. Lots in this special enclave are selling well and for further information contact The Secret Harbour Sales Office on 9524 8688.
Situated in the Sunset Links and conveniently located in the Town Centre are the newly completed deluxe two-storey homes. The homes built by “Jaxon” make quite a statement over looking the park and adjacent to the golf course. There are five in total and are placed on Texoma Link. These “house and land” packages make it so easy – just move into your new luxury home – take the hard work out of building! Major extensions and refurbishment of the Secret Harbour Golf Course Clubhouse commenced in late 2009 with an estimated $2 million to be spent. These exciting changes involve the construction of a new function centre surrounded by verandas with views over the practice putting green and the course. Work on the extensions is expected to be completed by May 2010 giving the club the ability to cater for larger groups (150 plus patrons), corporate golf days, meetings, seminars, weddings and social gatherings in the day or evening. The current bistro will be transformed into a traditional golf club bar while a new look bistro will present with a tranquil ambience providing an intimate meeting place for patrons.
Secret Harbour Golf Course, designed by Western Australia's golf architect and renowned international golfer Graham Marsh, is now so in demand that technological systems are being examined to enhance future booking procedures and access to information about course availability. The course also houses Australia's largest juvenile golf academy – The Secret Harbour Golf Links Junior Golf Academy.
The Secret Harbour Joint Venture offers heaps of fun activities and opportunities for the youth of Secret Harbour including, community art projects, school holiday activities, creativity workshops and plenty of events that cater specifically for the 0 – 21 age bracket. It must be noted that the hard working community members at the Secret Harbour Residents Association are always interested to speak to young people to involve them in the decision making process for programs and events that impact positively on their life.
Secret Harbour has a child care centre with ABC Learning Centres located at the corner of Anstey Road and Bluestone Parkway. For further information contact ABC Learning Centres on 1800 222 543.
The Secret Harbour Residents Association in-conjunction with the community has developed a local services directory to provide the community a link to local service providers.
Secret Harbour Estate certainly must have something going for it.
Since its establishment 16 years ago more than 7500 people have chosen to call Satterley's master-planned estate home.
A strong sense of community spirit has developed in the community with residents eagerly embracing the myriad of events organised by the Secret Harbour Residents Association (SHRA).
The Association is a not-for profit, voluntary group of residents who meet on the third Tuesday of each month to discuss and take action on matters of community interest.
Formed in 1996, the SHRA has been instrumental in lobbying for many projects that have been of benefit to the community as a whole.
There is no better example than the recent campaign against the proposed Desalination Plant.
The sense of community is showcased in the SHRA’s 16 page bi-monthly newsletter, The Secret Harbour Whisper. This newsletter promotes community events and groups, provides an avenue for community comment, keeps the community informed about local matters, contains useful contact information as well as promoting local business through its advertising section. The Whisper is delivered to households and businesses in the Secret Harbour estate.
New members are always welcome. For more information contacted the SHRA via the Secret Harbour Whisper email address: shwhisper@hotmail.com
